we have available an inhouse preliminary stage (for print, Web, video and animation),
promotion equipment as well as DMX-controlled light technology and sound engineering

so underlines our ‘all from one hand‘ philosophy. The special technical equipment
of the agency stretches from highly up-graded graphic design and image processing
workstations, high-end drum scanners, proof/colour printers of the latest generation
(up to format DIN A0) and filmsetters for print film exposure till high-performance
network or web-servers incl. Automatic back-up robot as well as TDSL access
incl. firewall solutions. The employees of Atelier CICERO A creative team
joins forces All of our team members are real pros in their respective fields
and are coming from all fields of responsibility that constitute a full-service

From the managing director Ingo Kaulbach to the trainees they are a unique
team joining forces. Of course, there is a hierarchy at Atelier CICERO, although
a very flat one. Short ways do not only facilitate our work on your projects,

Looking back From a photocomposition studio to a full-service agency the last
20 years speeded up January 1985: Formation of the photocomposition studio Atelier
CICERO The idea of the two founders Klaus Hofmann and Peter Cmok results in
the formation of the Partnership Atelier CICERO at Frankfurt on the Main. While
the printing industry is standing between hot metal and phototype setting, Atelier
CICERO is developing to one of the most modern photocomposition companies of
its time. At the end of 1985, the company has 5 employees in the fields photocomposition
and final drawing. The customer structure consists almost totally of advertising
agencies. July 1986: Trainee at Atelier CICERO Ingo Kaulbach joins Atelier CICERO
as a trainee in the field of artwork production. July 1987: Atelier CICERO becomes
a graphic studio Based on an outermost positive business development in a flourishing
market, the two partners decide to change the legal form of the commercial entity.
Now Atelier CICERO is the Cmok & Hofmann GmbH. Parallel to the company name
in the commercial register the name Atelier CICERO is kept up as a sort of marque.
The company now concerns itself with the production of photocomposition, final
drawings and other work in the field of advertising. Moreover, it deals with
the design of advertising layouts and all kind of business being connected with
it, directly or indirectly. Originally just established in the advertising industry
as an outside supplier, Atelier CICERO develops its own creative approach. February
1988: A trainee goes independent Ingo Kaulbach leaves the company after successful
conclusion of his training and starts at Siegen University for management economics,
faculty marketing. During his studies he keeps on working as a free graphic
designer and illustrator. August 1990: Joint owner retires The founder and joint
owner Klaus Hofmann retires from the company due to illness. Consequently, the
Cmok and Hofmann GmbH is renamed Cmok GmbH Grafik & Fotosatz. Early 1991 till
the end of 1995: Atelier CICERO introduces desktop publishing In the course
of this period, some regular customers decide due to general recession to
establish their own production departments in order to lower their cost for
outside services. At the same time, the print preliminary stage industry is
once again standing at a turning point. Desktop computers like the Apple Macintosh,
now established in the advertising industry, increasingly supersede the much
more expensive photocomposition terminals. This results in a lasting downward
trend of prices in the field of the entire print preliminary stage process,
which leads to the failure of many old-established companies. Atelier CICERO
managed to survive in this period by cost reduction, lowering the number of
employees and finally by acquisition of direct customers. November 1992: ARToGRAFIC
is founded Ingo Kaulbach founds ARToGRAFIC, a graphic studio, and works as an
independent contractor in the fields of conceptual work, graphics, desktop publishing
and production for direct customers. July 1996: Atelier CICERO goes advertising
agency The merger of the Cmok GmbH and ARToGRAFIC Ingo Kaulbach makes Atelier
CICERO an advertising agency with all performances in the fields of advertising
and desktop publishing. The managing partners Peter Cmok and Ingo Kaulbach now
hold 50 p.c. of the business interests each. As a result of the merger and the
professional competence in the field of new media contributed by ARToGRAFIC,
on one hand a decisive restructuring of the regular customers was successfully
realized. On the other hand, the selected acquisition of noted new customers
was achieved. Now, nearly 100 p.c. of the customers are direct customers. The
company is equipped with the latest Macintosh-based technique and gets a new
thrust of expansion, which is expressed to this day in increasing turnover and
investment volumes. July 1997: New name stands for tradition and future The
company is renamed Cmok GmbH Digitale Kommunikation. This is embodying the
typographical professional competence steeped in tradition and the usage of
the most modern digital production techniques and media. January 1999: Ingo
Kaulbach takes over all business interests The managing partner Ingo Kaulbach
takes the remaining business interests of the Cmok GmbH Digitale Kommunikation
by the end of the year. For the time being, Peter Cmok continues to be managing
director. December 1999: Peter Cmok leaves Atelier CICERO The managing director
Peter Cmok retires from the company at year-end at his own request and terminates
his professional life. His great dreams the realization of concluding his
business life at the turn of the millennium and starting a literary career at
his own country seat in Italy come true. January 2000: Ingo Kaulbach is the
sole managing partner The company is renamed Kaulbach GmbH Digitale Kommunikation,
since then Ingo Kaulbach is the sole managing partner. December 2000: Atelier
Cicero now definitively is a full-service agency Till the end of the year 2000,
the restructuring of the company to a full-service advertising agency can be
successfully completed. 2002: A highlight in history Atelier CICERO has a permanent
staff of eleven employees and is now at the market since seventeen years
stronger than ever. 2003: We have reached the age of majority Atelier CICERO
celebrates its 18th birthday With a new, stylish image company brochure Atelier
CICERO underlines the demand to make „advertising, that attracts“ even after
eighteen years at the market (available as download or print copy). July 2003:
Atelier Cicero moves to new premises After having completed the age of majority,
time has come to move to our own four walls. On July 25, Atelier CICERO moves
to new premises at Waidmannstraße 25 in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. December 2003
till February 2004: Analogous turns digital DiMaPro™ Atelier CICERO conceives,
programmes and pursues within the framework of its event management for a
one-week, international major customer event the specially developed Web-based
direct marketing system DiMaPro™. An outermost positive, outstanding resonance
on the part of the promoter as well as on the part of his own major customers
leads to further marketing of the system and offering it to a broader range
of customers. June 2004: Promotion equipment at Atelier CICERO For the usage
at promotions and smaller events Atelier CICERO invests in own promotion equipment.
With a modular marquee system, counters and displays allowing for individual
branding as well as mobile flagpoles, Atelier CICERO is now, also in this segment,
very well equipped to meet corresponding demands of its customers. August 2004:
The communication for DiMaPro™ is started DiMaPro™ and its first rough communication
concept are finally revised and completed by additional tools. After its trademark
protection, the marketing activities for DiMaPro™ are started in September 2004,
at first for the total of Germany. September 2004: Light and sound at Atelier
CICERO Strictly following the traditional idea to offer all services and technical
prerequisites if possible, without outsourcing , Atelier CICERO invests in
light technology and sound engineering the field of event management. In the
basis, now approx. 8 x 2.000 watt of sound performance are available to our
customers, incl. sound mixers, radio microphones, PA and DJ-CD players. Moreover,
approx. 24.000 watt of light performance incl. floor and hanging spots, extensive
effects and projection possibilities (beamers, gobo projectors and so on) as
well as tripods and crossbars of course completely DMX-controlled can be
offered. 2005: And the story goes on In the year 2005 Atelier CICERO will celebrate
its 20th birthday. Our history has shown, that standstill and wait-and-see are
not a part of our vocabulary. We are sure, that also in this year there will
be a lot of things to experience for us and our customers. January 14, 2005:
Addition to the family of Atelier CICERO On January 14, 2005, the tiny CICERO
was born: Leon Noel Kaulbach. Of course, „the little“ will teach us to do exactly,
what he wants us to do in particular during the short and sleepless nights
of his parents. But possibly the future will tell us he will be about to
become the next generation of the ‘disciples of Gutenberg‘? We will keep you
